   Les Croix is an English owned and run carp fishing holiday venue in South West France, one of a handful of French Carp Fisheries offering big carp and first class, modern lakeside accommodation with excellent on-site facilities including an optional food package, bait and tackle shop with tackle and bait boat hire, and a fly-drive option offering airport pick up and tackle hire.
Our French carp lake is situated in a tranquil, scenic location on a private secure site, surrounded by woodland and green fields with abundant wildlife in the area. Carp Fishing in France can be much more than just a fishing trip, with our purpose built, insulated, heated and double glazed holiday cottage, a true home from home, fully equipped inside and out, with swimming pool and sun terrace, and all for your use only ! Many Carp Fishing venues claim to offer quality accommodation, but we are one of the few Carp Lakes in France that have lakeside facilities that can be truly described as first class. Les Croix is owned and run by a UK qualified and experienced fisheries manager, so you can expect a professionally managed carp venue. We have a population of 150 beautiful hand selected carp, young hard fighting fish, with mirrors and commons to 40lbs+ backed up with lots of upper 20's and 30's, 90% of the carp are over 20lbs, with grass carp to 30lb+ and specimen roach and rudd to 2lbs+ also present. There are no poisson chat, catfish or sturgeon in the lake. In 2008 not one angler blanked, and every week of the season saw at least one carp of 30lb+ landed, with most weeks seeing several thirties and loads of twenties caught. The best catch in 2008 was 54 carp to 2 anglers for a total weight of 1182lbs including 8 x 30's, and the best catch to a single angler was 38 carp for 890lbs with 3 x 30's and 22 x 20's ! The care and safety of the carp are of paramount importance to us - all our carp are in immaculate condition and we intend for it to stay that way, all our customers are provided with NASH landing nets, large unhooking mats and VENTURE XL recovery weigh slings free of charge, these MUST be used, please leave your nets, mats and slings at home and use the space in your car for other things ! Please bring an antiseptic mouth care treatment such as NASH Medi-Carp, Kryston Klinik or similar and use it on all the fish you catch ! The Les Croix carp are piling on the pounds at an incredible rate - one fish has gained 15lbs between March and October this year ! 2009 will produce many new 30's and we expect some fish to top 45lbs ! Many of our carp fishing customers are couples, and even if there is just one person fishing, you can book the accommodation and lake to yourselves for the week ! Our prices are based on the number of anglers and guests, so Les Croix can be an affordable French carp fishing holiday venue for two. Freshly prepared food is available, home cooked meals, breakfast lunch and dinner, delivered to your swim as and when required, or you can order a full food package for the week. We sell fresh/frozen boilies from Premier Baits, as well as quality pellets and Les Croix partiblend which the carp love, so no need to worry about how much or what type of bait to bring with you. We also have a small shop with a stock of essential items of tackle, and offer hire of carp fishing tackle (bivvies, rods, pods, bedchairs, chairs etc.) we also have bait boats for hire and on sale in the shop.   Limoges airport is only 25 minutes from Les Croix and with flights available from Southampton, Stanstead, East Midlands, Liverpool and (from July) Bristol we are able to offer a Fly-Drive option with tackle hire, should you wish to arrive by air. The airlines which fly into Limoges are Flybe and Ryanair and both offer excellent deals when booking in advance. There are many and varied local sights and attractions, along with some top restaurants in the local area, the lake is secure, and we are on site 24/7 so you can leave your gear unattended without worry, should you wish to take a break from the carp fishing.
