We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived, Jon and Sophie are lovely and were very helpful throughout our stay. Nick fished 24/7 only stopping for meals and showers - he caught 16 carp, the biggest was 36lbs. The fishing was a little slow at times but improved during the week thanks to advice from Jon. Overall a lovely holiday, good weather, very relaxing and peaceful, the food was out of this world, every meal was delicious - Sophie is a great cook !

Although still in its infancy, Les Croix is undoubtedly one of the best family venues in France, with the growth rates of the quality fish stock it is set to become one of the most sought after venues in France. Lovely accommodation with pool makes the venue perfect for taking the family to France.

2010 will be a very interesting and popular year at Les Croix and should see a lot of big fish caught.

We had a fantastic time it was so relaxing as you know. Tom and I just totally chilled out. It was that relaxing and peacefull we did not venture out

except to go to Carrefour to top up on beer. The accommodation, lake and fish are first class. Yourself and Sophie made us feel so welcome.

Thanks for the welcome pack it was a nice touch. Taking all of this into account we highly recommend this venue for anglers, non anglers and family.

Had a brilliant week, the gite was as advertised unlike some places we have stayed, the lake is stunning and with fishing to match. Took advantage of the pool to cool down on those hot afternoons and enjoyed several walks in the lovely area when not fishing.The fish are in great condition and it is refreshing to find someone who puts their welfare first. All this amounted to a fantastic week catching outstanding carp.

Welcome pack is a nice touch with olives and wine included. Loved the power shower, made good use of the pool - needed when the temperature reaches 30+. Arrived to a very warm welcome from Jon, Sophie and Oscar. The gite was like a home from home - very comfortable with everything you need. Made good use of the swimming pool, very welcome as the weather was very warm, high 20's every day. As a relative novice I was very grateful for the advice and help from Jon, and the fishing was great - I broke my PB more times than I can remember and to top it all my last fish of the week was a common of 42-14. Thank you both for looking after us and making us feel so welcome, hope to be back soon.

Our first visit to this venue, we were warmly greeted on arrival, and this set the theme for the week with Jon and Sophie pulling out all the stops to make our stay enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble and the accommodation, food, service and fishing are faultless. Despite changeable weather and spawning activity we caught 31 cracking carp, every one of them in immaculate condition and topped by a new PB common of 40-00 for Joe. Will be back in the Autumn.

We would like to say a big thank you to Jon and Sophie for a fantastic weeks holiday, the gite is comfy and fitted out excellently, a pleasure to stay in.

The fishing was also first class, I beat my PB twice in one morning !

The local area is clean, quiet and peaceful, we would not hesitate to recommend Les Croix to fellow anglers and their partners, many of whom would enjoy the place as much as we did. Your obvious care and attention to everything should be well rewarded.

Les Croix is like a second home for us - we really like the set up, the lake fishes really well during the daytime so we fish hard through the day and relax in the gite at night. This trip was probably the best fishing trip we have ever had, we decided to fish and bait with boilies only, using 50kg of Premier Baits Matrix during the week, and it really paid off with a fantastic catch of fish with two thirds being 20lb+

The accommodation was lovely, everything we needed and very nicely presented. The fishing was fantastic, with lots of runs and some really lovely looking carp, especially the Grass Carp! We had a great week, which proved to be a nice relaxing fishing break unlike some of the other pressured waters we have fished, We would definitely recommend the lake to others wishing for a nice venue which is private and family orientated. Our stay at Les Croix has been peaceful and exciting ! This was our first fishing trip to France, and we could not have picked a better venue. The gite is truly an English home from home, it has everything that you need, very well laid out with a great kitchen and living room, fantastic shower and comfortable bedrooms, with everything from scatter cushions to candles. We did not use the pool but it looked great. After a slow first day on the bank, on Jon's advice we decided to hire a baitboat and our catch rate improved dramatically, culminating in the capture of a 41lb mirror. All we can say is that you will need a lot of bait, you cannot take too much ! Its a good job that Les Croix have their own shop with bait and tackle that you might need, and Jon is always on hand to give advice and tips.Thanks to Sophie for the fantastic meals and for making us feel so welcome. Last but not least, the lovely OSCAR - always a wagging tail ! We will be back very soon.

Nice lake and surroundings, fish in excellent condition, look forward to seeing them a few pounds heavier next year ! Thanks for a great weeks holiday .We loved les Croix so much that we have booked for next year before leaving.

Thanks for a fantastic holiday, the Gite was finished to a high standard with all comfort needs excellent shower. Fishing was good, Jon was on hand to give me some good advice, all fish were in immaculate condition and put up a good account for themselves. Kids enjoyed spending time with Sophie feeding the chickens and goats and playing with Oscar. The grounds were kept well, nice size swimming pool kept the children happy.

Would like to come back in the future. Thanks again for a great holiday.

The week we spent at Les Croix was just fantastic. My wife and two daughters aged 11 and 14 had a wonderful time. The location was so nice that they were not too interested in sight seeing, the kids just loved the pool. The fishing was great, considering the time I actually spent fishing I still had 20 fish, I did not fish during the night. Both Jon and Sophie were fantastic hosts and you do not only have to talk fishing with them. The venue is in mint condition and so are the fish. Congratulations to the both of you! I will definitely be back again in 2009!

We really enjoyed our stay, the setting was fantastic and the gite very clean and tidy. The food was great and the service also. The most enjoyable fishing I have ever had, the hired tackle was good quality gear, and the Nash rods were excellent to play fish on. Jons advice was very useful and helped us to bank more fish. We had 50 carp, 4 thirties, and it was super to see the two big grass carp at 25lb and 27lb 8oz. Had a great time - we will definitely be back for more ! Re-booked for 2009 .

You can't knock the fishing at Les Croix ! I fished days only and landed 24 carp, five 30's to 35-00 along with thirteen 20's,the average weight was over 25lbs, all the fish fight well and are in superb condition. The gite and pool are perfect and Jon and Sophie are friendly and helpful. A very enjoyable week. Looking forward to my next trip already !

Accommodation - faultless, an absolute pleasure to have all the home comforts with good cooking facilities, great power shower, really clean, and nice to have English TV.

Food - for those not wishing to cook, I would highly recommend the food cooked on site, a full English breakfast and a hearty dinner is ample as the portions are generous and tasty.

Fishing - The venue has a lot to offer for the angler who just wants to wet a line for a few hours a day, and for the more serious carper who can and should bank a decent number of quality hard fighting fish. Even if you have left something at home, Les Croix has evreything you might ever need on site, either for hire or for sale in the shop. Jon's knowledge of his fishery is well worth listening to and could help you to bank something special.

Hosts - The welcome that Jon and Sophie offer is very warm and friendly, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you both for everything you have done to make our stay very enjoyable. Thank You.

We have had a lovely week here at Les Croix. The fishing although hard at first (after spawning) was fantastic, and the quality of the fish superb. The gite was very lovely and well equipped and nice and close to the lake. We had great weather so the pool was a very welcome addition in which to cool off !

Jon and Sophie were great hosts & always on hand no matter what you need - their fab cooking is a must-try !

All round a lovely relaxing week with great service and cracking fish. We will definitely be back for more !

Les Croix is a fantastic place for any angler who appreciates their carp and the environment they are fishing in ,and you have got the balance spot on.
Great weeks fishing for me with over 700lbs carp caught with seven over the 30 lb mark ! PB common, linear and float caught fish as well. The gite is superb and we were well looked after by hosts Jon and Sophie. Les Croix is a real credit to them. Very relaxing week, thank you both very much.

We have really enjoyed our stay with you. Some of the things that have made it memorable have been : The excellent condition of the fish, and the fact that with a little thought they are catchable. New PB common, mirror and grass carp in 1 week is not bad !
The gite is perfectly positioned for when we want to pop back for natures calls and bits we have forgotten.
The lake is just the right size to experiment and watch for signs of fish, so goals are achievable.
Dad's highlight of the days were his cooked breakfasts and the excellent evening meals that Sophie prepared and kindly brought to us at our swim - where else could you sit at the waters edge enjoying your meals ?
I enjoyed the chats with Jon about the fish history, their weight gains, which fish have not been caught etc etc, it makes for a better weeks fishing rather than just turning up, catching the fish and going home again.I know have a little more insight into how carp behave and survive.
A very big thank you to both of you for a memorable holiday, and I should also say that you should be proud of what you have produced here at Les Croix.

As a first time big carp angler, I would say that the fishing at Les Croix is excellent. Average 3 fish a day just fishing a few hours in the morning and again in the evening. For a novice, 16 fish from 14lbs to 35lbs+ in 6 days is a remarkable result. Excellent value for money, will come again in the near future.
