| Due in no small part to the success of Les Croix, we have decided to take on another water - Les Levades. This is a scenic water set in a quiet valley with tree lined banks and rolling green fields. Widlife is abundant, with deer often visiting the surrounding farmland, and coming to the lake to drink at dawn. This lake is only 5 minutes from Les Croix, and we are sure that it will be very popular from the outset. Click here to see the Les Levades photo gallery - more pics of the lake and the carp. Once again, the lake will be available for exclusive bookings only - up to 3 anglers fishing, and up to 6 non-angling guests in the large gite accommodation. The lake is around 5 acres in size, but fishing is restricted to The Point, a section of bank of around 50 metres, in which three anglers can fish comfortably, and from which 90% of the lake can be covered. The lake has a very large gite, 100 metres from the water, situated in an elevated position and overlooking the point swim and the rest of the lake. The accommodation, which can sleep 6 people, features 2 large bedrooms, newly fitted bathroom, living room and large kitchen and is fully furnished and equipped. Both the lounge and master bedroom windows overlook the lake.    There is covered parking outside, a basement for tackle and bait storage, and an outside terrace area with table and chairs, BBQ, etc, again overlooking the lake. The site is private and secure.
On our first exploratory fishing trip to the lake, in a 5 day session, fishing days only, Sophie and I banked 55 carp from mid doubles up to 32lbs 8ozs, an excellent trip, and with many stunning looking carp taken, and some incredible arm-aching battles - these fish really do hang on ! There are around 200 carp in Les Levades, with mirrors to mid 40's present, and with a high ratio of commons to mirrors - we estimate around 40% of the population are commons, they really are some of the most perfect commons that I have ever come across, and go up to high 30's. All parties who book Les Levades will come to Les Croix at the start of their holiday and be escorted to Les Levades. Once on site you will be given a tour of the lake, accommodation and facilities and advised on the fishing etc. Thereafter you will be visited daily to ensure that all is well and to answer any questions on the fishing, facilities, local area etc. The village of Brigueuil is just 5 minutes away in the car and has a small supermarket, bakery, butchers, chemist and a bar/tabac. The large town of St.Junien is 15 minutes drive and has 5 large supermarkets and other shops. Please note that fly-drive, tackle hire, bait boat hire and food are not available at this venue.
